February Update

February 10th, 2010

I wanted to take a moment to bring the club up to date on some of the new positions that have now been filled. As a board, we are still picking up the pieces and recovering from the loss of Kathie Anderson.  She provided such a valuable service to the club and is greatly missed.

I believe I am caught up on sending out Source Books, National DVD’s, and Illustrated Standards, however I do have a few awards from the National that I hope to get out this week. Bill Combs, our membership director, has graciously volunteered to assume the duties of receiving and distributing the PayPal orders as they come in.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Aaron DeVandry.  January 14th,  Aaron became our new Webmaster. Aaron’s email can be found under the webmaster committee on the club web site. We are looking forward to working with Aaron and are already off to great start.

On behalf of the entire GSCA I  would like to thank Mike and Tami Stoller for bringing our website from what started out as a very humble project to the magnificent website it is today. So much so, that I have been contacted by AKC officials informing me that they feel that our website is one of the best sites they have seen! We will be forever grateful to both of them for the countless hours devoted to the club.

Pam Foster will move from the her current position of Southern Director to our interim Treasurer.

We have many events planned for the upcoming year.  Aaron has created a new ‘upcoming events’ bubble on the main page of the website. It is easier now then it has ever been to know what is going on with the GSCA. Please try and make it a habit to check the website weekly.

We do have a couple committees that need chairmen.  If you are interested in chairing a committee for the GSCA, please contact me for further details.

Sincerely,
Ed Fojtik
President, Giant Schnauzer Club of America
